Heading into the New Year, most of us are ready to turn over a new leaf in some aspect of our lives. Whether it’s eating better, exercising more, saving money, or simply working on lowering our daily stressors, we all have a thing or two we want to work on!

But, you're not the only one that wants a bigger and better new year!

We want to help you keep Fido’s tail wagging for the new year, so we’ve gathered five simple things you can add to your pup’s daily routine.

Turn Up the Exercise & Enjoy the Outdoors

Fido might already get a long walk each day, but can you squeeze in an extra 10 minutes of adventure time? How about a weekly trip to the dog park?

Dogs love activity and socialization – why else would they get so excited when you ask them if they want to go out?! More time outdoors is a surefire way to alleviate boredom and bond with your pet even more this year.

Just make sure you keep the spring in their step with a nice supplement that helps support their hip and joint function. Wouldn't want that frisbee to collect dust, would ya? ;)

Give Your Pup Your Undivided Attention

Does it ever feel like your dog is trying to make you close your laptop or put your phone down?

(Spoiler: It's true.)

Your pup patiently waits for you to get home from work, your errands, or your social life, and the only thing they want is your attention. Giving your dog a short 15-20 minutes of undivided attention a day for a game of fetch, a long walk, or belly rubs can make a world of a difference to your dog.

Start a Dental Routine

We know this one might not be as “fun” for your pup, but it certainly will leave them happier in the long run!

Oral hygiene is just as important as vet visits and exercise, so be sure to help your furry friend have strong and healthy teeth! Put Their Minds to the Test

Take Fido on a Road Trip

Want an adventure and a memorable experience with your furry friend? Hop in the car for a day trip! Whether it’s a hike to explore and sniff out new smells, splash in the waves at the doggy beach, or simply roam around local festivals, your dog will most certainly be thinking, “Best. Day. Ever.”

Try to plan easy destinations that are about an hour or so away – especially since some dogs get antsy after a little while in the car. Lastly, make sure you pack accordingly for the day. That means plenty of water, food/treats, and supplies to clean them up! These journeys together are a great way to build your bond with Fido and will certainly make for a great year together.

Our pets bring us so much joy and they truly don’t ask for much in return. So, we hope you find some ideas to trickle into your routine to make this year the best year yet for Fido… and you!
